OOTD; Another Matching Set

floral blazer & trousers | topshop sale | £45.00 (for both)
lilac top | vintage shop | £5.00
silver platforms | zara | 20.00ish
Each year the Topshop sale seems like an actual battle ground, girls grabbing hangers left right & centre, unfortunately this year I was one of those crazy people to (just not so aggressive, no elbow pushing was used). I got quite a bit of money for Christmas so thought why not spend it on new clothes (&my driving test to, but mainly clothes as always). Anyway, I spotted this suit & luckily it happened to be matching sizes and fitted me well. The jacket was reduced from £55, to £25 and the trousers £45 to £20 then student discount on top making it quite a steal.
I think its still available on the Topshop website if you fancy a peek for yourself.
I really love two piece sets and how they can be worn together or separate, I wore the jacket last night with a dress but may wear the matching suit for new year (If I don't find any other bargains of course).
Topshop always manage to make amazing matching suits so keep your out if you fancy one for yourself, especially in the sales.
Hope you're all well & had a lovely Christmas.

OOTD; Pink Tartan

hat | old
tartan two piece | charity shop | £5.00
I recently bought this skirt & jacket set from a little charity shop (surprise, surprise). It was originally a size sixteen but I've took it in and hemmed it on the sewing machine, the skirt was actually ankle length but I preferred it much shorter. I really liked how the colours are not typical tartan and although the jacket still looks a bit big, I think I can deal with looking like I have huge oversized shoulders for the sake of pink and purple tartan.
Hope you're all well.

Sunday Steal

printed midi dress | charity shop | £1.00
As usual another old lady charity shop dress. I found this in the little charity shop near my house, everything in there is just £1 so pretty much anything is good for its price. I always pop in just to see if the is anything I like & really for one pound I doubt I'll ever walk out without parting with an entire £1 coin. I really like the pattern and think it would be nice with some ankle boots during winter or sandals in the summer, although it has a belt with it I might swap and wear a vintage black one just to make it stand out a bit more. Have you found anything good in the second hand shops recently?

DIY Christmas; Button Tree's

Christmas is almost here& I always love making some of my presents rather than just buying them all. Last year I made teacup candles and fabric hangers but I thought I'd go for something a little more Christmas themed this year. I spotted these cute button tree's on pinterest. Pinterest is really good place for DIY Christmas ideas, or just and DIY idea's at all, I'm currently hooked on re-pinning things. Anyway I thought they'd be a cute present for my nan's, plus they can always use the pins&buttons too.
You will need;
- polyester cone (e-bay or craft shops)
- selection of buttons
- pin (with a plastic head on are best as they hold the pin)
I don't think I really need to do step by step instructions just as it literally is as easy as it looks.
Place the button where you want it& push the pin through the hole to keep the button in place.
Two cones took me about an hour so it's pretty quick to.
I've seen all kinds of shapes not just tree's, button baubles are really cute.
Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time but I do have a few Christmas DIY posts lined up& will be back properly once I finish uni for the Christmas break, Hope you're all well!

OOTD; Pastel's and PVC

coat | topshop | £90
shirt | vintage
white PVC skirt | asos sale | £15.00
boots | river island | £45.00
I don't usually stick to trends with my clothes but this month I feel a asif I've gone truly pastel crazy, I think they are such a nice way to brighten up winter look's, I'm just not ready for top to toe black just yet..
Another trend is the whole high shine/pvc skirts, I spotted this white one in the asos sale, I think it's a nice subtle way of wearing high shine, although I do feel like a can't sit down probably (and slightly like a walking version of those 90's plastic table covers), other than feeling like that I love it.
Sticking with the pastel theme again, I wore all this with these cute floral socks that I got in my Jazzy Jeff goodie bag, they are originally Mary Quant, the queen of socks it seems. I think they are the most perfect socks and I'm so glad I own a pair now, thank you JJJ!
Hope you're all well.

OOTD; Perfect Paisley

paisley top | jazzy jeff's junk (vintage)
skirt | american apparel (old)
bag | jazzy jeff's (vintage)
A few weeks ago on twitter I saw about Jazzy Jeffs Junk looking to team up with bloggers, I'm a big lover of vintage clothes so instantly jumped at the chance to help. After a quick e-mail I received the most amazing goodie bag full of vintage bits including this beautiful top&bag as well as some retro earring's, amazing floral socks (will share in my next outfit post), sweeties& a postcard with a very handsome Johnny Depp on, I mean what more could you wish for than vintage treats& Johnny Depp to come through your letterbox?
I love the pattern of the top, as its quite a colourful take on paisley as well as the neckline that add's a nice detail without over doing it, meaning you could wear it casual or really do it up. I'm really impressed at the high quality of all my garments, thinking they are vintage after all, not a single moth hole in sight!
As well as great quality Jazzy Jeffs Junk is really well priced, none of the extra zero's added after the word vintage, which is great as you never really find vintage that is lovely aswell as good prices. I'm already eyeing up what I can buy, I think my dad may be opening a vintage shirt for Christmas after looking at Jazzy Jeff's menswear to.
If you fancy taking a peek for yourself you can find them here:

Hope you're all well& Enjoying this rainy weekend.

Unlikely Icons; Quick Halloween Costumes

Today I thought I'd share a few quick Halloween idea's that you could create from things you already own just in time for Thursday. None of the looks I've created are particularly scary as I think creating a skeleton or witch look is quite easy to do, plus a bit boring dare I say it.
Frida Kahlo
First up, I thought of the amazing Frida Kahlo, when else could you draw on a monobrow or moustache and still look amazing? All you really need is a flower crown and a mix match of brightly coloured/patterned clothes. As well as the bold patterns, add some statement earrings and a milk maid hair do, then you'll be good to go.  Frida is all about clashing prints so don't worry if you look as if you've just threw on anything you own, It will probably look better that way.
Crazy Cat Lady
Unfortunately I don't think I'm going out for Halloween but if I was, crazy cat lady would be my number one choice for sure. All you'd need is a old nighty and a few cat toys, just stitch or staple them on to prove your crazy cat lady love. Either a grey wig or the cheap choice of talc-en powder in your hair, or if you want to be a stylish granny you could even try pastel hair. Pair all that with some oversized glasses frames and maybe a walking stick and there you have it.. crazy cat lady you are.
Unicorn
A unicorn tail and horn automatically makes a statement but with all the majestic colours and prints I think it would be amazing to walk/prance like a rainbow. You'll always get the one person who says "what are you meant to be?" So why not add a little bottle of unicorn tears that you could wear as a necklace. Just add glitter into a little bottle, then tied with a pretty ribbon.. You could just sprinkle people with glitter if they ask what you are.
Hope you're well& have a happy Halloween!

OOTD; Hats&Horses

hat | charity shop | £3.00
pastel pink coat | topshop | £89.00
trousers | topshop sale | £20.00
shoes | old topshop
satchel | cambridge satchel company
Last night me&my friends headed for a little roadtrip, we had such a fun night including photo booth pictures, amusements, chips by the sea front& a sneaky doughnut or two. In typical English style, the weather was awful raining and even thundering&lightning as we were leaving. This in mind my pink fluffy coat wasn't the best choice but still. I bought it earlier this week even though a new coat is the last thing I need (I could probably open my own shop with amount I own) but I just couldn't resist feeling like a marshmallow/ care bear in it.
I hope you're all well& enjoying the weekend!

Wednesday Wishlist; Eye Eye

Although it's almost halloween and eyeballs take on a much creepier role, I seriously love any kind of eye print/jewellery all year round. So as you can imagine Kenzo's eye collection is dreamy in my eyes, however the £200+ price tags aren't really up my street..
This has got me thinking though and I think you could probably buy some iron on /heat transfer paper& create something similar at home.. I might give it a go, could be a new DIY post for sure so keep your eyes peeled.

Fickle; Lucky We Met

If you're anything like me the thought of a tattoo is exciting but a little daunting at the same time, permanently inking your skin isn't for everyone, usually if you think of a temporary tattoo its out of the little 20 pence machines at the fair.. However when Fickle contacted me about their new temporary tattoo website I was excited to give them a go.
They feature new and upcoming artists that share their designs as small tattoo's, showing temporary tattoo's in a whole new way. Alot of the tattoo's are quite quirky&retro looking, plus what's better than hanging a picture than to actually show the art on your body.
I received these two cute sets, arrows& two little birds with the quote of lucky we met..
I love them and think its puts a twist on the usual love bird theme.
They are really easy to apply just with a splash of water, then come off quickly and hassle free (none of that ugly faded ink from the usual temp tats) hot soapy water and they are gone.
You get two of each tattoo in a pack for £5.00, I think they would be a lovely stocking filler idea or just a arty treat to yourself.
You can have a little look at the other designs here
I think I may have to treat myself to the whitelucky rabbit soon.
Hope you're all well.

OOTD; Beach Dresses in Autumn??

hat | charity shop | £3.00
dress | topshop via. eBay | £15.00
blouse | charity shop | £3.00
Earlier in the summer I spotted this dress in Topshop but they didn't have my size so when I found it on eBay (much cheaper to) I just couldn't not buy it. It's supposed to be beachwear for over bikinis but I think it's to nice to save for summer. I've worn it twice already, once on a night out with just a black slip under& then here with a blouse, by layering it I think it seems more like a pinafore than a beach dress so much more wearable, a winter coat soon stops it looking summery to. Hope you're all well!

Awkward Peach

Pastel/Ombre hair has been a huge trend for a while now, &usually if you ask for it in the hairdressers you end up with a straight line of bleach or colour, however BLEACH London specialize in this style of hair, and they do it seriously well (I'd know after months and months of looking through/admiring their tumblr &instagram). This in mind you can only imagine how excited I was when I spotted on twitter that they were releasing a brand of dyes in Boots.
I've dyed the ombre parts of my hair before (lilac&turquoise) &I've been wanting a change for a while now so Awkward Peach is was, along with a dry shampoo.
Awkward Peach - £5.00
Dry Shampoo - £6.00
Its really easy to use, you just wash your hair as normal, then apply this to the wet hair, leave for 15 minutes, wash it off& dry. Then you're done! (The colour works best on bleached/blonde hair).
The colour works as a conditioner and smells really nice, with it been like a conditioner it doesn't leave your hair feeling all dry and full of spit ends.
The dye lasts for a few washes (twice on mine) but you have plenty in the bottle to dye it a few times, I can imagine the darker colours to last a few more washes. The colour also washes out really easy so no dye hanging around for weeks, if not though they also sell a washing out shampoo to make sure the colours all gone.
Although I only did the ends of my hair, I think it would look amazing as a full head colour,
all in all.. awkward peach is a winner in my eyes.

OOTD; Flower Crown&Lace

flower crown | diy
lace batwing top | charity shop | £3.00
mom style jeans | charity shop | £1.00
coat | hand-me-down
I really love flower crowns and to be honest I never really made the most of them this summer, but I think Autumn is still a ok time to wear them. I might even buy one soon rather than this handmade one (link to DIY here). The lace top is actually a size 30 which is oversized to say the least but I think it works quite well with the oversized jeans to, I think really skinny jeans would look good also, or tucked into a skater skirt. There's a quote that's; "how oversized is to oversized" so with that in mind I think a top that twice my size is allowed for sure.
Hope you're all well.

Unlikely Icons; Would a spaceman wear a skirt?

holographic skirt | £38 (not exact same)
A holographic skirt& lots of pastel colour, what more could you need from a outfit, I really love this skirt but couldn't find the exact link but the one from Topshop is really similar.
Nothing says spaceman inspired quite like a load of planets on your skirt, Although the hat and blouse are pretty simple I think the metallic shoes and jacket would really 'set this look off', lets face it who doesn't want to look like a tin foil spaceman.. only slightly more fashionable.
Cosmic dinosaurs, this top is actually a men's from Topman but I love wearing men's t-shirts especially with really girlie looks& tucked into skirts. Plus I doubt any boy would wear a pink blazer with his space themed dinosaur top anyway.

OOTD; Pastel Pink

pink jumper top | matalan | £7.00
skull necklace | topshop | £12.50
skirt | topshop (old) | £40.00
Pink is going to be such a big trend this winter, usually I'm not a 'pink kind of girl' but I actually love the trend, pastel pink coats are a new guilty pleasure. I saw this little jumper/top in Matalan and for just £7, I think its one of those things you could wear over and over with lots of different things& because of the shape really good for layering to. I'm probably going to end up dressed head to toe in pastel colours by the end of December, or completely hating them.. either way I love them for the time being.
Hope you are all well.

OOTD; Vintage Hand-Me-Downs

coat | vintage
dress | matalan | £16.00
Today's post is full of almost blown over/ fancy drain pipe photographs, the wind made it a perfect day to wear my new vintage coat. My nan's friend actually gave it to me& I honestly couldn't be more happy with it, she's had it over twenty years and it even has her initials embroidered into it which makes it even more special to me. I've wanted a basic black dress like this for a while now, I really like the collar and how it can instantly look smart without any effort at all.
Although you can't see in this post, I've finally got my hands of some cut out boots. Since the Jeffrey Campbell boots were huge last winter, I've been on the lookout for something similar, suddenly everyone seems to of fell in love with them, I was to slow to grab myself a pair from New Look but then found these perfect ones in River Island, for £45. I really like how they are navy rather than black to, just something a little different. You can find them here or the is also black/patent black online.
Hope you are all well.

Sometimes blogging takes a back seat..

I haven't posted properly for almost two weeks now, which isn't really like me, neither is it out of choice. Since I started my blog I was on a year out (unexpected but still a year out). Last week I started my new course which meant I have been so busy, although outfit photographs do only take a few minutes of my day I just couldn't find the time, however I'm going to do my best to make time.
Like I said, I've started my new course which is a Foundation Degree in Fashion Design&Technology. After a year of letting people talk me out of doing it (because it is such a tough industry and hard to get in to) I finally thought 'just do what you want'. To be fair everything is tough now a days so it's better to do something you enjoy. I already know I've made the right choice because I love it even after just three days. My year out showed me how important it is to be happy doing what you want. If you want to do it, do it.
Speaking of it..
I have been a huge Alexa Chung fan for such a long time, since school so around four/five years. She was the first person I saw& actually though 'I'd quite like to dress like that'.. Anyway, her long awaited book came out earlier this week and I can honestly say I love it. It's a really easy read, kind of like a scrap book of her life I guess.. From heartbreak to hairstyles, to how she gets her perfect winged liner. Alex Zane is even featured it in, what more could you want from a book!
I'll be back to normal outfit posts this week, hope you're all well!
