DIY; Miu Miu Style Pumps

Miu Miu pumps.. I can pretty much guarantee I am not the only one swooning over these beauties but at almost £400 per pair they are pretty pricey. I was looking at each of the Miu Miu lace ups & thought why not try out a little DIY instead..

What you will need:
- Ballet Style Pumps (of your choice colour-wise & fabric-wise
- Two Meters of black ribbon
- Two Meters of gingham ribbon
- Cotton Thread to match your pumps
- One Hand-Sewing Needle
- Small Scissors
Ballet Style Pumps - Topshop
Scissors, Thread & One Sewing Needle
Two meters of each ribbon (your's could be different colours etc. depending on chosen style)
Once you have all your supplies ready it's just a few quick steps..
Begin by folding the ribbon exactly in half & placing it on the mid-way point on the center back of the shoe.
Once in place, simply sew the ribbon in place and repeat each stitch two/three times to ensure it is tight & sturdy.
Once all stitched, trim off any loose cotton ends & repeat on the second shoe.
As you can see from the images obviously my DIY is not an excact copy of the Miu Miu pumps but I really loved the red ribbon bows already on my bought pumps so wanted to keep that there.
If you want to try something even a little more special you could also try out adding some super sweet charms to the ribbons as some of the Miu Miu shoes have.. Cat's on ribbons, why ever not?
Let me know if you try out this quick & easy DIY for yourself!?

OOTD; Holographic &Pom Poms

coat | topshop
top | asos
bag | pull&bear | £16.00
trousers | primark | £12.00
sandals | ebay
pom pom earrings | diy
Today's post is just a quick outfit from last night, we just went for tea and a few cocktails before watching some fireworks on the Albert Docks, I really love unplanned nights that just kind of work out as they do, they are always the best one.

I've wanted a holographic bag for absolutely ages& finally got my hands on this oversized one for just £16.00 at Pull&Bear, which I think is a serious bargain.

Another thing was pom pom's earrings (&shoe clips to, but that's a work in progress). After seeing them everywhere I honestly couldn't stop searching for them online, however a lot of the ones I liked were over £100 which I think is a awful lot for earrings, anyway this got me thinking how easy it probably is to make my own.
I just bought a meter of faux fur piping and a bag of earring loops and sewn them together, I'm so happy with how they turned out and already on a mission to create a pair in every colour I can think of.
I hope you're all well& enjoy the weekend!

OOTD; Checked Dress&Matching Sets

dress | handmade | around £6.00
hat | vintage | £3.00
necklace | topshop | £12.50
Recently in Topshop they've had loads of checked dresses which I really loved, however money isn't really on my side at the minute with having to buy fabric for uni&whatever else so I thought why not make one similar for myself. This (school uniform looking) fabric cost me around £6.00 for three meters which is really cheap & a huge saving compared to the £40 Topshop one& I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out.  I think I'm going to make a couple more in different fabrics for the summer/holiday as well as some more crop tops & skirts I made last year.
Whilst on about two piece crop tops/skirts, I thought I'd mention this palm tree set I recently bought in Primark. It was around £14.00 for both which I thought was a absolute bargain, they also had in with black tree printed on it.
I hope you're all doing well.

DIY Christmas; Button Tree's

Christmas is almost here& I always love making some of my presents rather than just buying them all. Last year I made teacup candles and fabric hangers but I thought I'd go for something a little more Christmas themed this year. I spotted these cute button tree's on pinterest. Pinterest is really good place for DIY Christmas ideas, or just and DIY idea's at all, I'm currently hooked on re-pinning things. Anyway I thought they'd be a cute present for my nan's, plus they can always use the pins&buttons too.
You will need;
- polyester cone (e-bay or craft shops)
- selection of buttons
- pin (with a plastic head on are best as they hold the pin)
I don't think I really need to do step by step instructions just as it literally is as easy as it looks.
Place the button where you want it& push the pin through the hole to keep the button in place.
Two cones took me about an hour so it's pretty quick to.
I've seen all kinds of shapes not just tree's, button baubles are really cute.
Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time but I do have a few Christmas DIY posts lined up& will be back properly once I finish uni for the Christmas break, Hope you're all well!

OOTD; Another Crop?

crop top&skirt | DIY
necklace | charity shop | £1.50
This crop top&skirt set I made the same time as my other (from the other blog post here) however this is less boxy and made from a cotton fabric. I spotted this fabric and instantly loved it, the feather headdresses and huge eagles made it a definite buy however I think it would work amazing for a fancy dress costume to!
(the fabric cost me around £12.00 for 4 meters)
I got really lovely comments on my last post like this (thank you)& I'm in the middle of my DIY post to create this outfit for yourself so keep an eye out for that soon.
Hope you're all well.

OOTD; Cats&Crops

crop top and skirt | DIY
I've loved the new trend of matching crops and skirt since it first started, but finding the 'perfect two-sie' to buy just hasn't happened yet, I found a set in topshop (this one) but for nearly £80 it just didn't seem worth it, I thought I should stop being lazy and just make my own. In Liverpool there is a fabric shop which sells their fabric by weight meaning you get a lot more for you money (its just end of rolls), I spent £18 on this fabric, then spent the afternoon sewing away, I'm so pleased with it over all and know I'll be packing it away for my holidays without a doubt!
hopefully I'll be able to create a blog post of this diy but its quite hard to explain it all by just writing, fingers crossed though!
Hope you're all well.

DIY; Extra Easy Floral Crown

you will need:
- artificial flowers of your choice
- plastic head band
- wire cutters/ strong scissors
- strong glue
- clothes pegs
- paint&brush (optional)
- carefully trim stems from the bunches of flowers
- selects the ones you wish to use
- also keeping a few of the fake leaves
- remove the wire stems
- have a few practises at the placing and arrangements of the flowers before gluing
- trim the same amount of leaves as you have flowers
(I had 5 flowers so needed 5 leaves)
- apply the glue onto headband
- place the flower onto the glue
- stick the leaf over to hide any plastic stems
- peg in place ensuring the peg is placed over the stem to hold it in place to dry
- repeat until headband is full
- now is the time to add any extra flowers if needed (I used 7 in total)
- leave glue to dry for around 20-30 mintues
adding paint to the flowers is optional if you are happy with how the crown looks now, then stop..
if not grab your paints, I used simple water colours
- work from the outside of the petals, carefully building up colours
- apply quite thick onto the very edges of the petals carefully watering the colour down for the inside petals
- just work the colours until you are completely happy..
then you are all done!
make sure glue and paint is completely dry before wearing.

OOTD; Matching Crop Top and Skirt

two piece | charity shop/diy | £3.50
I thought I'd post this outfit today, the 'two piece' started its life as a long midi dress that I picked up from a charity shop. I knew I was going to make it into a crop top and skirt as soon as I saw it just as the length wasn't right for me as a dress. I was going to post a DIY of how I did it but its pretty simple, just cut in half, and add a waistband for the skirt and hem any raw edges. If you do fancy a detailed DIY of how I did it please let me know as I'd be more than happy to. I'm looking for something floral/patterned to do the same thing to. I hope you are all well& Enjoyed your weekend.
