OOTD; Cut Outs & Marabou Fluff

coat | ebay | £30.00
cut out jumpsuit | asos sale | £30.00
metallic pink shoes | topshop sale | £10.00

From faux fur to marabou feathers, I'm still crazy for any form of fluffy clothing at the moment so I just couldn't wait to share this amazing feathery jacket..

A few months ago I spotted a marabou feather jacket pretty much identical to this in Topshop (you can see it here), naturally I took it to the changing rooms and swooned over it for a good few minutes before deciding £150 was just way to pricey for a coat that wasn't going to keep me very warm at all. A couple of weeks later and of course I still had this fluffy coat on my mind aswell as pinning endless oufits that the coat would go with so well!

These Pinterest outfits of dreams in mind I thought why not take a little peek on eBay and see if there was anything similar to the Topshop coat.. of course there was (in a whole load of different colours too) and for £30 and around a months wait later here it is, fresh from a plane journey via. China.

I also managed to pick up this denim cut out jumpsuit in the ASOS sale and I'm so happy I did, I think its going to be a real wardrobe staple this spring as its just really easy to throw on and style easily too.

Back to the fluff.. it actually scares me a bit to think we can see something on our computer screens, click buy and it will literally arrive on your doorstep from anywhere in the world! Technology is pretty crazy when it comes to shopping.

I hope you're all well & having a great week so far!

Meeting Alexa Chung!

Okay so, this is a post I can safely say I never thought I'd be writing, I mean ALEXA CHUNG!
Tuesday just gone, Alexa was in Liverpool (&Manchester the following day) promoting her brand new Snowglobe nail varnish. To be honest I didn't have the slightest idea about her visiting until one of my friends tagged me in a photograph of Alexa last week. I couldn't actually believe she was visiting Liverpool so of course I headed along, with my friend too!

On the night Alexa was to be signing the brand new nail varnishes boxes however being the fan girl I am, I took my pretty little pink IT book along just on the off chance that she would sign that instead.. Ta DAAA, she did! She was honestly one of the nicest most genuine people & just as stunning in person.
She even commented saying I looked lovely which was quite the compliment coming from her!
I always remember being about 12/14 (the days of Myspace) and coming across the image of her in the cotton blue&white top&geeky glasses on, I had no idea who Alexa was from that image but it didn't take me long to become obsessed! I think she stands for a lot of positivity within the fashion world proving that it's not all about how much flesh you show but more about how you dress& what people will think of you for it.

One of my most favourite quotes by her is this one..

My gripe is that a lot of young girls aspire to be super sexy and I don’t see why. What is attractive or alluring is not necessarily how much flesh you bare, but how good your brain is, or how much charm you have. Fake tan, fake tits - this porn thing has become embedded in our culture. It’s a shame. Maybe it’s because I’m a country girl, but I hate it when women only dress for men. I think it’s more exciting to reveal less. Maybe wear layers of smocks and then have super-sexy underwear on. Dress like a pilgrim on the outside and a whore underneath.
— Alexa Chung
&something I most definitely live by!
Whilst at the Harvey Nichols, I picked up this BLUE, yes blue MAC lipstick (named Matte Royal) that I have had my eye on for a while. I've only tried it out once so far but I actually really like it.
I think because it has hints of purple within the blue colour it's a little more Autumn/Winter and less Joey from friends! (thanks Soph haha). I'm sure I'll post an instagram image of this quirky blue addition soon enough.
Hope you're all well!

OOTD; Dreamy suede skirt& a huge elephant..

white blouse | vintage shop | £6.00
turquoise suede skirt | asos | £60.00
patent boots | topshop | £40.00
bag | dune | £35.00

Last weekend me and my boyfriend took a quick trip to a place called Fargo Village, it's kind of a independent/ vintage place that host's a whole heap of shops and food/drink places. Whilst we we there I bought a cute Dolly Parton t shirt (there's a cat on the top to, so that was a necessary buy of course..) as well as some bath bombs which are the shape of eggs and in a egg box!
The place also has a brewery which my boyfriend was obviously quite the fan of.. beer all round!
Some of the shops are even in old creates which I think is such a fun idea to do, I think there really is something for everyone there and some of the graffiti is so amazing (as you can see from this huge golden elephant in the outfit photos).

I am loving the whole suede trend for Autmn and seriously can't get over this zipper front skirt from asos, I spotted it and also had a 20% off code which made it even more of a must buy. I loved the colour and then the fit was just really nice, I've worn it so much already and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Outfit repeater right here, I'm the first to admit it with this skirt!
Have you found anywhere a bit different recently or have any recommendations?
Thanks, & I hope you're all well.

Keeping Things Updated; Final Fashion Shows All Round..

I wanted to put together a kind of 'what I've been doing post' in terms of university and final year shows. As part of a trip with university we got to attend Graduate Fashion Week, the day was seriously so interesting, tiring but interesting none the less! We got to see the final catwalk show which was made up of twenty five graduate collections that had been voted the best. There were some really lovely collections and quite a few interesting ones which made it really fun to watch, its funny how you instantly compare peoples work and how long they have probably spent on each tiny detail of a garment for it to just be on a catwalk for thirty seconds or so. Whilst we were at Graduate Fashion Week I had my first ever 'fan girl' situation after spotting Susie Bubble from across the catwalk, I seriously love her blog and her sense of style too.
With the end of the university year coming up (hence Graduate Fashion Week), it also means its time for final year fashion shows all around each university, college etc. including me! My final year show took place just last night and I thought I would share just a few photographs of my work and final collection.

Although I have briefly said about my collection in a blog post before it was never in very much detail . I based my collection on the concept of Granny Chic, taking a lot of inspiration from the Advanced Style blog. I wanted to create garments that were very fun yet extremely oversized and could compliment either a older woman who wanted to seriously stand out from the pensioner crowd or a younger market such as myself who wished to look a little bit quirky and original in extremely oversized garments. My colour scheme included a lot of pastels as well as huge amounts of faux fur, pom pom's and PVC which came from the initial idea of granny's rain macs for those gloomy days.
Other parts of my final year show included showcasing other parts of my classes work. I included some of my illustration work as well as my styling and photography of which I had photographed my mum in my handmade garments.
I think the shoot was quite quirky since she was sitting in a empty bath tub wearing bright pink rubber gloves& sunglasses.. not a typical Monday night in my household. I was actually really proud because my class decided they wanted one of these photographs to be on all the fashion show tickets! Meaning once someone bought a ticket my photography would be for everyone to see, as well as my mum in her fancy pink marigolds..
Since it's time for my to now venture into the big wide world of work and the 'real' fashion industry I thought it was about time to start getting a bit more serious with how I represent myself.. This meaning I have finally got around to all those little 'ah I'll do them next week' things on my to do list.

So far my CV has been updated, I'm carrying my portfolio around wherever I go that I could meet somebody, I finally have a set of business cards and last but not least.. Contact Lenses!

I only usually wear my glasses for driving but recently my eyes have been getting worse.. I thought I since I may be getting job interviews/interning etc. that eyesight it probably a big deal..
Plus now I can actually wear sunglasses without feeling like the whole world is just one big blury place..
Sorry for how much of a chatty/blabberly blog post this has been but I hope you're all well.

What's In My Bag?

I hate to admit it but I'm one of these nosey people who really enjoys the odd snoop into what people like to buy or carry around with them. I'm often cooped up watching peoples 'what's in my bag' youtube videos or reading a blog post of what they have recently bought etc. I think deep down everyone is a little bit nosey & want to see what other people buy, so I thought it was about time I shared what I carry around with me on a day to day basis too..
My bag is this iridescent Vivienne Westwood one, which I got for my 21st birthday last year.
It's probably one of the most expensive things I own although I do use it a lot as I don't want to just save it for best &it actually just live in the dust bag forever.
Vivienne Westwood Purse // My friends actually got me the matching purse to my bag for my 21st birthday last year, the purse was a surprise and they didn't actually know I was gtting the matching bag. I cried because of how well they knew me& how lucky I am to have them as friends (getting soppy on a what's in my bag post here.. moving on hey..)
Glasses // Vivienne Westwood
Keys // pom pom keyring // h&m
Sunglasses // Resurrection - vintage shop in Liverpool.
Soap & Glory // Blotting powder to make sure my make up doesn't become shiny throughout the day.
Perfume // YSL Black Opium
Lipsticks // YSL - Rouge Volupte Perle - Colour Number 112
Mac Matte Lipstick - Colour - Flat Out Fabulous
Lip Liner - Colour - Fashion Boost
Burts Bee's Lip Balm - Chocolote & Berry flavour/scent
Chanel Compact Mirror
Tangle Teezer // Anybody who knows me probably knows just how much I brush my hair.. tangle teezer's are like a actual god send, sent from the hair gods shall we say.. Because I curl my hair regularly and kind of back comb it slightly to give in volume it can sometimes get a bit matted throughout the day, so been able to brush it without the pain makes it so so much easier.
As sad as it is to say, tangle teezer's have actually changed my life (wow, how sad does that actually sound).. But I would most definitely recommend buying one, although they are pretty pricey for just a brush I do think they are well worth the money.
I'm onto my third one now, after an emotional experience of leaving one in Cafe Nero's toilet and the other I kindly donated to my mum.
'Technology' // Iphone & Ipad Mini
Portable Charger - Tesco - £10.00

I hope you're all well& maybe enjoyed having a little snoop into my bag ..
Of course I never shared the endless messy shop receipts and train tickets..

If Money Was No Matter; How I'd Dress At Christmas Time

Today has been an icy cold day & I though what better to do on my day off than have a cosy day in eyeing up a lot of clothes on Polyvore that I couldn't afford due to the Christmas present buying ordeal. Ever single year I just see things and buy them without thinking of prices, this is great when you see somebody you care about loving & being genuinely happy with what they have received however my bank balance isn't looking to healthy at the moment.
Anyway, when could be better to swoon over a heap of designer things than when you're pretty much poor..

The first outfit is a kind of day/casual look, filled with Charlotte Olympia item's, I absolutely love her brand at the moment& think she's got it so right when it comes to quirky accessories. I've even been one of these crazy competition people as she is running a twelve day kind of fruit machine style event online in which you can win bags & even her famous cat face shoes.
Every morning I'm eagerly at my computer ready to use my three spins for that day.
The second look is a kind of meal out/drinks outfit, After loving this lip print dress for what feels like years I finally found out the designers name after spotting her in the ASOS magazine this month.
I never thought I'd be such a huge fan of girly pastel clothes but I can safely say I adore them& Alice McCall as a designer.
My final look is a party/going out look, the dress is from SheInside and then I went a little overboard with the Charlotte Olympia accessories (once again), I'd wear this outfit with bright red lips and nails to tie it all together perfectly.

I thought I'd post a few bits of my uni work whilst writing this also, mainly just to share what I've been up to recently. My final line up is now complete which means a busy few week of pattern development before creating the first garments after Christmas, I actually am so excited to get making the items now& can't wait to see how they'll look in real life and not just an idea in my head/ on piece of paper.
I hope you're all well.
