Unlikely Icons; Quick Halloween Costumes

Today I thought I'd share a few quick Halloween idea's that you could create from things you already own just in time for Thursday. None of the looks I've created are particularly scary as I think creating a skeleton or witch look is quite easy to do, plus a bit boring dare I say it.
Frida Kahlo
First up, I thought of the amazing Frida Kahlo, when else could you draw on a monobrow or moustache and still look amazing? All you really need is a flower crown and a mix match of brightly coloured/patterned clothes. As well as the bold patterns, add some statement earrings and a milk maid hair do, then you'll be good to go.  Frida is all about clashing prints so don't worry if you look as if you've just threw on anything you own, It will probably look better that way.
Crazy Cat Lady
Unfortunately I don't think I'm going out for Halloween but if I was, crazy cat lady would be my number one choice for sure. All you'd need is a old nighty and a few cat toys, just stitch or staple them on to prove your crazy cat lady love. Either a grey wig or the cheap choice of talc-en powder in your hair, or if you want to be a stylish granny you could even try pastel hair. Pair all that with some oversized glasses frames and maybe a walking stick and there you have it.. crazy cat lady you are.
Unicorn
A unicorn tail and horn automatically makes a statement but with all the majestic colours and prints I think it would be amazing to walk/prance like a rainbow. You'll always get the one person who says "what are you meant to be?" So why not add a little bottle of unicorn tears that you could wear as a necklace. Just add glitter into a little bottle, then tied with a pretty ribbon.. You could just sprinkle people with glitter if they ask what you are.
Hope you're well& have a happy Halloween!

OOTD; Hats&Horses

hat | charity shop | £3.00
pastel pink coat | topshop | £89.00
trousers | topshop sale | £20.00
shoes | old topshop
satchel | cambridge satchel company
Last night me&my friends headed for a little roadtrip, we had such a fun night including photo booth pictures, amusements, chips by the sea front& a sneaky doughnut or two. In typical English style, the weather was awful raining and even thundering&lightning as we were leaving. This in mind my pink fluffy coat wasn't the best choice but still. I bought it earlier this week even though a new coat is the last thing I need (I could probably open my own shop with amount I own) but I just couldn't resist feeling like a marshmallow/ care bear in it.
I hope you're all well& enjoying the weekend!

Wednesday Wishlist; Eye Eye

Although it's almost halloween and eyeballs take on a much creepier role, I seriously love any kind of eye print/jewellery all year round. So as you can imagine Kenzo's eye collection is dreamy in my eyes, however the £200+ price tags aren't really up my street..
This has got me thinking though and I think you could probably buy some iron on /heat transfer paper& create something similar at home.. I might give it a go, could be a new DIY post for sure so keep your eyes peeled.

Fickle; Lucky We Met

If you're anything like me the thought of a tattoo is exciting but a little daunting at the same time, permanently inking your skin isn't for everyone, usually if you think of a temporary tattoo its out of the little 20 pence machines at the fair.. However when Fickle contacted me about their new temporary tattoo website I was excited to give them a go.
They feature new and upcoming artists that share their designs as small tattoo's, showing temporary tattoo's in a whole new way. Alot of the tattoo's are quite quirky&retro looking, plus what's better than hanging a picture than to actually show the art on your body.
I received these two cute sets, arrows& two little birds with the quote of lucky we met..
I love them and think its puts a twist on the usual love bird theme.
They are really easy to apply just with a splash of water, then come off quickly and hassle free (none of that ugly faded ink from the usual temp tats) hot soapy water and they are gone.
You get two of each tattoo in a pack for £5.00, I think they would be a lovely stocking filler idea or just a arty treat to yourself.
You can have a little look at the other designs here
I think I may have to treat myself to the whitelucky rabbit soon.
Hope you're all well.

OOTD; Beach Dresses in Autumn??

hat | charity shop | £3.00
dress | topshop via. eBay | £15.00
blouse | charity shop | £3.00
Earlier in the summer I spotted this dress in Topshop but they didn't have my size so when I found it on eBay (much cheaper to) I just couldn't not buy it. It's supposed to be beachwear for over bikinis but I think it's to nice to save for summer. I've worn it twice already, once on a night out with just a black slip under& then here with a blouse, by layering it I think it seems more like a pinafore than a beach dress so much more wearable, a winter coat soon stops it looking summery to. Hope you're all well!

Awkward Peach

Pastel/Ombre hair has been a huge trend for a while now, &usually if you ask for it in the hairdressers you end up with a straight line of bleach or colour, however BLEACH London specialize in this style of hair, and they do it seriously well (I'd know after months and months of looking through/admiring their tumblr &instagram). This in mind you can only imagine how excited I was when I spotted on twitter that they were releasing a brand of dyes in Boots.
I've dyed the ombre parts of my hair before (lilac&turquoise) &I've been wanting a change for a while now so Awkward Peach is was, along with a dry shampoo.
Awkward Peach - £5.00
Dry Shampoo - £6.00
Its really easy to use, you just wash your hair as normal, then apply this to the wet hair, leave for 15 minutes, wash it off& dry. Then you're done! (The colour works best on bleached/blonde hair).
The colour works as a conditioner and smells really nice, with it been like a conditioner it doesn't leave your hair feeling all dry and full of spit ends.
The dye lasts for a few washes (twice on mine) but you have plenty in the bottle to dye it a few times, I can imagine the darker colours to last a few more washes. The colour also washes out really easy so no dye hanging around for weeks, if not though they also sell a washing out shampoo to make sure the colours all gone.
Although I only did the ends of my hair, I think it would look amazing as a full head colour,
all in all.. awkward peach is a winner in my eyes.

OOTD; Flower Crown&Lace

flower crown | diy
lace batwing top | charity shop | £3.00
mom style jeans | charity shop | £1.00
coat | hand-me-down
I really love flower crowns and to be honest I never really made the most of them this summer, but I think Autumn is still a ok time to wear them. I might even buy one soon rather than this handmade one (link to DIY here). The lace top is actually a size 30 which is oversized to say the least but I think it works quite well with the oversized jeans to, I think really skinny jeans would look good also, or tucked into a skater skirt. There's a quote that's; "how oversized is to oversized" so with that in mind I think a top that twice my size is allowed for sure.
Hope you're all well.
