Some things are worth saving for; Miu Miu.

Way back in October last year when I went to Paris with my friend, we were looking in all the sunglasses shops on the Champs Elysees, now obviously I'm one of the many people that love Miu Miu and their perfectly pink packaging however at the time I couldn't really afford to buy myself a pair, atleast not without dipping into my student loan anyway. So when I knew I was heading back earlier this month I thought it would be the perfect time to invest in the perfect glittery frames of dreams which I had thought about none stop for the last six months or so.
I went for the green glittery ones in the cat eye style shape, I did try a few other shapes and patterns on such as the hexagon leopard print and circle glittery ones too, but these ones best fitted my face& I liked how the green glitter was quite neutral in a way and not too in your face, or too over the top (well, as not over the top that glittery glasses could be)

Buying them whilst in Paris did save me a little bit of money, around £30, &although it wasn't an awful lot I much preferred buying them first hand as it meant I was able to try the glasses on my face instead of just ordering them online& hoping for the best, as well as having to wait for the postage and then maybe have to send them back if they didn't suit me.
Overall I'm so happy with this little glittery purchase& so excited to start wearing them properly over this spring // summer.
Have you made a pricey purchase lately, or have something in mind that you're saving up for?
I would love to know, & I hope you're all well too.

OOTD; Gingham Two Piece

gingham top & trouser set | zara | £70ish
faux fur coat | topshop boutique | £115
bag | zara | £35
shoes | new look | £10ish

Sometimes I think unexpected photo's can actually turn out better than if you had planned them, I like blog photographs much more when they are outside/in some kind of nice realistic background but I'm possibly the most awkward person to pose especially when other people are watching.. so trying to get outfit photo's near the Eiffel Tower wasn't going to be easy. I actually complained when I seen these ones but after looking back on them I actually quite like them, and don't even look to awkward for a change (just abit nerdy looking).

Anyway, I bought this gingham set just a few weeks ago in ZARA and really like how they can be worn either together as a full outfit or separate. The top is quite low cut which isn't something I'd usually go for but with the peplum detail and the fact the trousers are quite smart, I think its a look that could be worn both in the daytime like here or dressed up for a night out.

I hope you're all well.

Paris // Mama Shelter

I don't usually post about hotels on my blog but recently me and my boyfriend went to Paris for his birthday, I initially wanted the trip to be a surprise so booking/choosing a hotel was down to me.. I had read about Mama Shelter on quite a few blogs, the main one being What Olivia Did, I thought the hotel seemed amazing from Olivia's blog posts and gave me a lot of confidence in booking the shelter for such a special occasion. I did read reviews about Mama Shelter too, but to be fair as soon as I seen the photographs of the quirky masks and apple mac's in each bedroom I was pretty much sold!
After staying in Mama Shelter for three nights, I can honestly say that it was everything I expected it to be & even more, although the hotel is slightly out of Paris (closer towards the Stade De France than the Eiffel Tower) both me and my boyfriend agreed it was well worth the few extra metro stops. It took around twenty five minutes on the Metro to get back to the hotel from the city centre and there are quite a few metro stations as well as buses close to the hotel therefore transport isn't really a problem, plus if you're anything like us it gives you a sneaky reason to buy a cake/pastry from the bakery on the way home..well, we were passing anyway of course..(insert the little pig emoji's here).

Speaking of food..
We ate twice at Mama Shelter.. once in the Pizzeria which was perfect.. think fresh handmade pizza's to order whilst sitting on wooden tables with vintage video's of James Dean playing.
Secondly on our last night when we ate in the restaurant, we were seriously impressed with the meals we had of steak and Chinese chicken as well as some (just the one for me) very boozy cocktails..
They even have a whole heap of blow up rings as light features in the restaurant, what more could a place need?
Overall just the entire feel and atmosphere of Mama Shelter is something I can't quite explain, it was one of those hotels that you are actually excited to get back to, even in the middle of Paris, I was never disappointed to be heading back to our little room and I think that's something that not a lot of hotels can supply, hence me sharing my own blog post all about it& my personal Mama Shelter experience.

What's In My Bag?

I hate to admit it but I'm one of these nosey people who really enjoys the odd snoop into what people like to buy or carry around with them. I'm often cooped up watching peoples 'what's in my bag' youtube videos or reading a blog post of what they have recently bought etc. I think deep down everyone is a little bit nosey & want to see what other people buy, so I thought it was about time I shared what I carry around with me on a day to day basis too..
My bag is this iridescent Vivienne Westwood one, which I got for my 21st birthday last year.
It's probably one of the most expensive things I own although I do use it a lot as I don't want to just save it for best &it actually just live in the dust bag forever.
Vivienne Westwood Purse // My friends actually got me the matching purse to my bag for my 21st birthday last year, the purse was a surprise and they didn't actually know I was gtting the matching bag. I cried because of how well they knew me& how lucky I am to have them as friends (getting soppy on a what's in my bag post here.. moving on hey..)
Glasses // Vivienne Westwood
Keys // pom pom keyring // h&m
Sunglasses // Resurrection - vintage shop in Liverpool.
Soap & Glory // Blotting powder to make sure my make up doesn't become shiny throughout the day.
Perfume // YSL Black Opium
Lipsticks // YSL - Rouge Volupte Perle - Colour Number 112
Mac Matte Lipstick - Colour - Flat Out Fabulous
Lip Liner - Colour - Fashion Boost
Burts Bee's Lip Balm - Chocolote & Berry flavour/scent
Chanel Compact Mirror
Tangle Teezer // Anybody who knows me probably knows just how much I brush my hair.. tangle teezer's are like a actual god send, sent from the hair gods shall we say.. Because I curl my hair regularly and kind of back comb it slightly to give in volume it can sometimes get a bit matted throughout the day, so been able to brush it without the pain makes it so so much easier.
As sad as it is to say, tangle teezer's have actually changed my life (wow, how sad does that actually sound).. But I would most definitely recommend buying one, although they are pretty pricey for just a brush I do think they are well worth the money.
I'm onto my third one now, after an emotional experience of leaving one in Cafe Nero's toilet and the other I kindly donated to my mum.
'Technology' // Iphone & Ipad Mini
Portable Charger - Tesco - £10.00

I hope you're all well& maybe enjoyed having a little snoop into my bag ..
Of course I never shared the endless messy shop receipts and train tickets..

OOTD; Faux Fur&Mango Nails

coat | topshop via. depop | £35.00
dress | asos sale
watch | olivia burton

I never really used to wear a lot of black but recently I've been quite liking the idea of an all black outfit teamed with a patterned jacket or coat. I spotted this coat on Depop, I liked it when it was first released by Topshop (about a year ago now) so I'm extremely happy that I managed to get it for sure a reasonable price, I love how it has just a hint of leopard print too.

Something that I still find amazing, is the idea of fragranced nail varnish! I'm one of these people that hates the idea of 'nail time' from taking old nail varnish off to the headache (mainly the smell) of reapplying a new one.. even though I hate painting them, I love how they look once done, so my realising this lovely orange coloured nail varnish actually smells like mangoes made my Sunday night (pretty sad, I know). This one is called Mango Madness by Revlon but I'm pretty sure they must have a whole line or at least a few more of these dreamy smelling varnishes..

Hope you're all well.

OOTD; Leopard Print&Trainers

pastel leopard print top | tk maxx | £20.00
pvc skirt | asos | oldish
bag | monki | £15.00
new balance trainers | asos | £70.00

This weekend me and my boyfriend headed to a trainer 'festival' which was on in Liverpool, I'm not usually one for trainers but I thought it sounded like something a bit different and actually turned out to be really good. Of course a trainer festival was the perfect place to wear my new trainers, they are the first pair I've bought since I was around thirteen, maybe even younger but I loved the pastel colours and knew I'd get quite a lot of wear out of them because I could style them with the clothes I already have. I went for the pastel leopard print as I thought it was quite nice with the pastel trainers and a simple white skirt to break it all up slightly.
Luckily it was a really beautiful day here in Liverpool on Saturday, and I can't believe how beautiful this wall was with all the illustrations on. After the trainer festival we headed down to the Albert Docks for some lunch, it was lovely with the sun shining. Lunch made me think how glad I was that I'd worn this PVC skirt after I got far to greedy eating a chocolate fondue, most of which ended up all over me.

I'm not sure if the Laces Out trainer festival was just a one off or if it's a regular thing but I really would recommend it, even if you just went for a little look around or for a treat for your boyfriend/ friend. Although they did have girls trainers for sale, the festival was aimed to males and had probably everything a boy could want on a sunny Saturday .. beer, a quirky barbers and a whole heap of trainers for sale and to swap, along with a DJ and a few independent stalls selling clothing too.
You can see the Facebook page here if you do fancy having a look.
I hope you're all well & enjoyed your weekend, whatever you got up to.

Never Say No; Expensive Inspiration

Recently I've been having one of those times were you want to dress like all the other people you see online, in the street, on blogs (etc.) rather than actually having to wear the clothes in your own wardrobe (all those ones you suddenly despise no matter how much they cost, even if they were bought just a few weeks ago).

Now I'm not sure if this is just a phase that only I go through but I'm hoping not, anyway whenever I start doing this whole "I neeeeeeeed new clothes" routine, I like to create kind of mood boards // a source of inspiration that I can look at and think how can I adapt the clothes I already have to create my own take on these kind of outfits.

I know that will probably sound like the most boring thing in the world to some of you but I find it quite fun (sad, I know) plus I also manage to save a bit of money by re-styling what I already have meaning I can buy a few new, maybe slightly more expensive items.

Anyway I thought I'd share this mood board with you& what it has made me want to buy/ try to recreate with my current clothes.
ONE // A NEW PINK COAT

miu miu coat // here
lavin coat // here
shrimps // here & here

Coats are my downfall, I have a stupid amount of them although to be fair to myself I do get a lot of wear out of every single one, actually one in particular is my pastel pink topshop faux fur that I bought a year& a bit ago now. The coat isn't so much faux fur, just kind of 'a little bit fluffy' (great material description for a fashion student there). Anyway its safe to safe I've had my wear out of it for the £100 that I paid and there's only so many times that I can keep getting it dry cleaned, hoping some sort of miracle will happen in there and make it look just as new as I very first bought it.
I'm going to start having a good look round into a new pink coat that I will get just as much wear out of, &can finally give my current one a little break / retirement.

TWO // FEDORA HAT
burgundy&black // marks and spencers
grey // whistles
I find that wearing a hat instantly makes you feel as if you've put a lot more effort into an outfit, kind of just finishes a whole look off properly.
I've had the same fedora hat which I wear none stop for a good while now, although I have been on the hunt for a new one none seem to be the new 'the one', for example they are always to big for my head, they make my face look huge, not the right colour.. fussy I know but the fedora hunt goes on.

THREE // TEXTURES, PATTERNS AND PRINTS
This is something I want to try out a little bit more, usually with a patterned skirt I would wear a plain top, maybe with a texture however I want to start being a bit more adventurous, by adventurous I mean maybe the odd stripy top with a leopard skirt rather than a plain blouse.. nothing too wild.

Anyway, I hope this post is something a little bit different & that you are all doing well.
