Palm tree trousers in the palm tree house.. where could be better to photograph this outfit. If you are close to Liverpool or plan a day out here sometime then I would definitely recommend a quick hour or so trip to Lark Lane & the Palm House in Sefton Park. It's so lovely inside and although its only small I would still agree that its worth a visit. Me and my friend went and although it wasn't the nicest of weather it was still a lovely day, we also had milkshakes in jam jars and pancakes.. what could be a better way to spend a Monday morning after finishing university. 

I am obsessed with the whole botanical/palm tree trend for this summer and would be more than happy owning literally everything palm leaf print. H&M have currently got some amazing palm prints in, from bikini's to sunglasses cases .. I need them all! 

They are all pretty well priced too, making them perfect buy's for summer holidays.

OOTD; That Meadham Kirchhoff Dress

As many people probably already know by now a few years ago Meadham Kirchhoff released a collaboration collection with Topshop. The collection featured a lot of faux fur, fluff, colour and crotchet. At the time the multicoloured crotchet dress was all I could think about buying however when I did try to purchase it, it was completely sold out.

The only thing that comes to mind in how I can describe how I feel about this dress is the quote "nothing haunts us like the clothes we didn't buy" &this dress seriously has haunted me for the past few years. I'd searched for it none stop on eBay, Amazon, Depop etc. as well as looking for endless dupes, even going as fas as buying a crotchet blanket to try and make my own version, however none of them just matched up. 

Anyway, a few months ago, I spotted one for sale on eBay &even though it was pretty expensive I just knew I had to buy it. The dress is actually in such great condition considering its been pre-owned and the seller even sent me the initial label for the dress too, I think it must of only been worn very few times if at all.

So after finally purchasing the knitted dress of dreams, I thought when would be a better time to wear it that my birthday!? 

I am now the grand old age of twenty two!

For my birthday me&my boyfriend headed to Nottingham for the night, I had never been before and really liked it as a place although I do think it is the kind of place that you need to go back a couple of times to have a real look around and get a feel for the place. The weekend included, pasta and cocktails, birthday pancakes, a bit of vintage shopping, photo booth posing as well as an emergency stop to buy socks due to these knee high boots been literally the most uncomfortable things ever made.. trying to put socks on 'gracefully' in the street was definitely not my finest moment, that's for sure. 

Birthday's always make me really emotional (trust me, every year I say the same thing) but I think it really makes you realise just how lucky you are to have the people in your life who you do& appreciate them as well as all the things they do for you. Soppy I know, but true none the less..

Another classy changing room photo shoot for this post.

I think this could be my favourite dress of the moment, I spotted it on eBay from a vintage shop, they specialised in retro and vintage costumes but had a few quirky pieces for sale too. 

This dress was actually classed as a vintage 1950's night dress and was floor length when I originally bought it. 

I knew instantly that I would make it quite a bit shorter when I bought it and once I received it in the post, I cut quite a bit off.. I'm really happy with the idea of shortening the dress because it means I get to have a chunk of the lovely leopard fabric which I can use to either make something else or even a little accessory to match. 

I love buying vintage things because they are usually so well made and also kind of one off's since you can't just go out and find the exact same item on the high street, making the garment a little bit more special.

OOTD; Just Not Mine..

I thought I'd do a bit of a different post today as what I had planned would of meant two of my outfit posts on the run.. &I'm not to sure everyone would be that keen on seeing my face over and over again.

I was with my boyfriend last weekend and took this photo of him (instantly thinking that would make a good blog post) but since he doesn't have a blog I thought I would share his outfit for him (even though he will probably cringe at this). 

Personally I think men's outfits are always nice to look at because it can sometimes be a bit harder for them to look different however tiny details can make a big different, something like a patterned sock with loafers, or a tie pin etc. 

The coat was something I picked up just shopping one day&was such a steal, it's the brand Farah & was less than £20 in a sort of vintage shop. I thought it was so good for a coat that would probably cost around £100+ bought brand new& to be honest it looked absolutely brand new so I'm not sure it was even worn beforehand. I think I got good girlfriend point for picking up such a good bargain for him, or I didn't then I definitely should have. 

Something a bit different for a post anyway, I hope you're all well& maybe let me know what you think of sharing other peoples outfits on here as well as my own.

OOTD; Holographic Green

Just a quick outfit from my friends birthday a few weeks ago now. 

I spotted this holographic dress in the ASOS sale & bought it on a bit of a win, 

(whim? .. I'm not so sure what the saying actually is?).

Moving on.. sometimes ASOS things look lovely online and not quite so much when you open your parcel however this dress was seriously more perfect in person than on the website. I love how it picks up the light and looks different from all angles. 

It's also cut really nice and not even a tiny bit scratchy which makes a change for a glittery dress.. 

Holographic and doesn't scar your skin .. what more could you need from a dress hey?

April Monthly Favourites

LUSH Golden Egg Bath Melt

Whenever its any kind of festive event / holiday, I instantly think of the limited edition things from LUSH, sad I know but that's how my twenty one year old mind now seems to work.. 

Anyway at the beginning of the month I headed into the shop and picked up a few special Easter products including this golden egg as well as a few rabbit shaped bath bombs. 

I seriously loved this bath melt (even if it did leave gold glitter ALL over the bath) .. it leaves a really nice kind of silky feeling to your skin and smelt very calming too.

Mug Cake // Dodo Mug (ASDA/ £3)

Cakes are one of my many downfalls in life.. 

This been said I had been looking at mug cakes for quite some time now & fancied having a go of my own.

If you don't know what a mug cake is.. its cake making without all the fuss of messy bowls, mixers, heating the oven etc. 

You basically put all your ingredients into a large mug.. give it all a good mix with a spoon and pop it in the microwave for a few minutes.. so easy & so so good! 

The recipe I used was one from TESCO's website and was chocolate&raspberry..

I'll list all the ingredients below in case you fancy trying one for yourself. 

4 tbsp self - raising flour

4 tsp golden caster sugar

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp malted milk powder (Horlicks)

1 large egg

2 tbsp milk

3 tbsp sunflower oil

6-8 raspberries

10-12 chocolate chips or chocolate buttons

mix together and microwave for 3 to 4 minutes

Ah the ELLE mag stickers get me everytime, last time the latest fashion designers were made into fruit and veg that suited their names & this times animals .. Amazing.

A few of my favourites have to be Anna as a lizard & Chinchilla Versace!

Alexa Chung / IT

I don't think I will ever fall out of love with Alexa's book, its possibly the most 'Instagram-able' book ever created & its been on my instagram feed probably a few too many times.

I love some of the advice in the book and how its so easy to relate to.. if you're having a bit of a rough time, have a little read through & it will soon make you realise that the problems you have seem to be happening to every girl / woman and that its completely normally.. from heartbreak haircuts& what to wear to a festival.. we all need a bit of Alexa advice. 

Snapple Kiwi & Strawberry

Something else that is very suited for instagram, this perfect pale pink drink from snapple.. I admit I bought it for how pretty it looked but it actually tasted amazing, &something I would happily drink for the rest of my life (daily if I could).

Last but not least, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS .. for a good few months, two of my friends were speaking about Pretty Little Liars & how I should start watching it. After a few train journeys of not understanding the conversation (who the hell is A?) 

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and have a little watch to see what they were talking about. 

Now I'm not usually one of these people who gets hooked on shows but I swear my netflix app hasn't been closed for longer than an hour for the past month. I seriously got the Pretty Little Liars bug & have already finished all five seasons in just over a month and a half.. I already can't wait for the new episodes to come out.

Some things are worth saving for; Miu Miu.

Way back in October last year when I went to Paris with my friend, we were looking in all the sunglasses shops on the Champs Elysees, now obviously I'm one of the many people that love Miu Miu and their perfectly pink packaging however at the time I couldn't really afford to buy myself a pair, atleast not without dipping into my student loan anyway. So when I knew I was heading back earlier this month I thought it would be the perfect time to invest in the perfect glittery frames of dreams which I had thought about none stop for the last six months or so.

I went for the green glittery ones in the cat eye style shape, I did try a few other shapes and patterns on such as the hexagon leopard print and circle glittery ones too, but these ones best fitted my face& I liked how the green glitter was quite neutral in a way and not too in your face, or too over the top (well, as not over the top that glittery glasses could be). 

Buying them whilst in Paris did save me a little bit of money, around £30, &although it wasn't an awful lot I much preferred buying them first hand as it meant I was able to try the glasses on my face instead of just ordering them online& hoping for the best, as well as having to wait for the postage and then maybe have to send them back if they didn't suit me. 

Overall I'm so happy with this little glittery purchase& so excited to start wearing them properly over this spring // summer.
