OOTD; The Eliza Dress

On Sunday I wore my Alexa for M&S Eliza dress for the very first time, it was super sunny & warm weather-wise meaning no tights and instead just a simple pair of patent black boots!

I actually really like the look of ankle boots & dress with no tights, just bare legs now. I used to find the combination would make me look really strange height/body proportion wise, I'm not sure if it was because of where my boots stopped etc. but I'm very much a fan of the look now!

Sunglasses | Miu Miu
Dress | Alexa Chung for Marks and Spencer | £45.00
Backpack | Topshop | £80.00
Ankle Boots | Topshop | £35.00

I also popped on my fluffy Topshop backpack and Miu Miu sunglasses to keep from taking squinted eyes blog photographs..

I hope you're all well and having a great week so far, happy hump day too!

OOTD; Cut Outs & Marabou Fluff

coat | ebay | £30.00
cut out jumpsuit | asos sale | £30.00
metallic pink shoes | topshop sale | £10.00

From faux fur to marabou feathers, I'm still crazy for any form of fluffy clothing at the moment so I just couldn't wait to share this amazing feathery jacket..

A few months ago I spotted a marabou feather jacket pretty much identical to this in Topshop (you can see it here), naturally I took it to the changing rooms and swooned over it for a good few minutes before deciding £150 was just way to pricey for a coat that wasn't going to keep me very warm at all. A couple of weeks later and of course I still had this fluffy coat on my mind aswell as pinning endless oufits that the coat would go with so well!

These Pinterest outfits of dreams in mind I thought why not take a little peek on eBay and see if there was anything similar to the Topshop coat.. of course there was (in a whole load of different colours too) and for £30 and around a months wait later here it is, fresh from a plane journey via. China.

I also managed to pick up this denim cut out jumpsuit in the ASOS sale and I'm so happy I did, I think its going to be a real wardrobe staple this spring as its just really easy to throw on and style easily too.

Back to the fluff.. it actually scares me a bit to think we can see something on our computer screens, click buy and it will literally arrive on your doorstep from anywhere in the world! Technology is pretty crazy when it comes to shopping.

I hope you're all well & having a great week so far!

Awkward Peach

Pastel/Ombre hair has been a huge trend for a while now, &usually if you ask for it in the hairdressers you end up with a straight line of bleach or colour, however BLEACH London specialize in this style of hair, and they do it seriously well (I'd know after months and months of looking through/admiring their tumblr &instagram). This in mind you can only imagine how excited I was when I spotted on twitter that they were releasing a brand of dyes in Boots.
I've dyed the ombre parts of my hair before (lilac&turquoise) &I've been wanting a change for a while now so Awkward Peach is was, along with a dry shampoo.
Awkward Peach - £5.00
Dry Shampoo - £6.00
Its really easy to use, you just wash your hair as normal, then apply this to the wet hair, leave for 15 minutes, wash it off& dry. Then you're done! (The colour works best on bleached/blonde hair).
The colour works as a conditioner and smells really nice, with it been like a conditioner it doesn't leave your hair feeling all dry and full of spit ends.
The dye lasts for a few washes (twice on mine) but you have plenty in the bottle to dye it a few times, I can imagine the darker colours to last a few more washes. The colour also washes out really easy so no dye hanging around for weeks, if not though they also sell a washing out shampoo to make sure the colours all gone.
Although I only did the ends of my hair, I think it would look amazing as a full head colour,
all in all.. awkward peach is a winner in my eyes.

DIY; Extra Easy Floral Crown

you will need:
- artificial flowers of your choice
- plastic head band
- wire cutters/ strong scissors
- strong glue
- clothes pegs
- paint&brush (optional)
- carefully trim stems from the bunches of flowers
- selects the ones you wish to use
- also keeping a few of the fake leaves
- remove the wire stems
- have a few practises at the placing and arrangements of the flowers before gluing
- trim the same amount of leaves as you have flowers
(I had 5 flowers so needed 5 leaves)
- apply the glue onto headband
- place the flower onto the glue
- stick the leaf over to hide any plastic stems
- peg in place ensuring the peg is placed over the stem to hold it in place to dry
- repeat until headband is full
- now is the time to add any extra flowers if needed (I used 7 in total)
- leave glue to dry for around 20-30 mintues
adding paint to the flowers is optional if you are happy with how the crown looks now, then stop..
if not grab your paints, I used simple water colours
- work from the outside of the petals, carefully building up colours
- apply quite thick onto the very edges of the petals carefully watering the colour down for the inside petals
- just work the colours until you are completely happy..
then you are all done!
make sure glue and paint is completely dry before wearing.

Ombre Tips; Hair

First of all, I'm not in anyway claiming to be a hair pro/hairdresser, this is simply my experience&how I did my hair. When I wanted to ombre my hair it looked at lots of blog posts, youtube video's etc. but the wasn't one that made me feel 'secure' about bleaching my hair, it was all either them putting on the bleach or just images so I'm going to post about my hair, see if mine can be abit different&hopefully pretty helpful.

What is ombre hair?
Ombre or 'dip dying' the hair is basically just a graduation of color, from light to dark, or dark to light. The most common you will probably see is black/brown to a blonde colour although now colours are getting pretty big to.
What bleach/how do I do it?
Now, alot of people think a highlighting kit will give you this effect but your hair will have to be naturally blonde/really really light&never dyed for that to work, so bleach is your option. You could always go to the hairdressers but I think a 'alternative hairdressers' would do the job much better for you, many hairdressers kind of just give you a block kind of colour, a block of brown hair on top then bright blonde on the bottom, When I went to see about mine they didn't have a clue what I was on about so I went for the DIY option.
Any bleach will do, I used Loreal Paris, Perfect Blonde creme this time for about £6.50 from Superdrug.
The kits have everything in, all you will need is tin foil (optional) and a colouring brush(optional to). Now the kit has instructions but they will normally be for a full head of hair or re-colouring the roots, stick to them but only apply the colour on the bottoms of your hair (however and wherever you want). I part my hair into sections then lay it on to a piece of tinfoil, apply the bleach then wrap it up for 20-25 minutes. (Youtube have alot of video's going threw the exact steps which you might want to have a look at). I was nervous of it looking silly if I put the bleach in the wrong place but this is the joy of ombre.. It can't really go TO wrong, I mean it can go wrong, what can't? But the are no rules for example highlights need to be evenly spaced and about the same width.. this doesn't, obviously start the bleach from the bottom as that's what you want to be the 'dip dye' part. Your aiming for the look asif you've put the ends of your hair in a tub of blonde paint hah. Alot of people just apply the bleach with their hands (gloves on of course) which might be a easier option for you? If I was going to tell you something.. Less is more the first time, you can always rinse it out and apply more bleach however one its on your hair you can't take it off and do it differently.
Me, Personally.
I have ombre'd my hair three times (today being the third) however I didn't do this all at once, I've had my hair like this for 8/9 months, each time I was happy with the result but it does look pretty ginger the first time. I wouldn't recommend you using bleach often as it really does ruin your hair, just try your best to keep it in its best condition, I have really split ends because of the bleach but what can you do hey?
Just for a comparison for the top of my hair to the bottoms;
It does look pretty scary (even to myself) when I look at this but it blends so easily.
Basically when you buy bleach/ombre your hair you may as well be buying split ends so, just be aware of that.
I hope this has helped in a way, I didn't want to just post loads of picture of my hair, I wanted to point out how it does ruin your hair, I know this is really bad to say but I think it's well worth it .. You only live once so who really cares about a add few split ends& spending a few more £££ to keep your hair from looking like a pile of hay.
Hope your all well.
